Malcolm Macdonald on Newcastle United - ChronicleLive

What's gone wrong for Newcastle at the moment? The place to start, requires Malcolm Macdonald Tiote has been a shadow of his former self, while Yohan Cabaye needs to play higher up the frequency There clearly was therefore much wrong with Newcastle United in that terrible derby that I donat know the place to start. They were gutless and toothless; tactically inept and setup all wrong. In the long run I felt embarrassed, ashamed of a performance like that from my old team. Of course Sunderland did great and gained from a new manager instilling belief. However they didnat have much to beat, did they? Let us look at what happened. For a start United decided to play someone who I consider the worst opponent in the Premier League at left-back in direct opposition to a right winger, Adam Johnson, who on his time is pure quality. Jonas Gutierrez has seemed undroppable this year. Heas been in the staff at left-back, center midfield, right and left wing. Yet he's had any such thing but an excellent plan. Gutierrez gave the ball away on the first target and never followed the athlete then helped Johnson to cut in a very ' surprise, surprise a' for the second. I donat know very well what Massadio Haidara thought sitting on the bench. Why he was ordered to play 2nd fiddle to a winger he must have been wondering. Talking of players and their jobs this indicates a that Yohan Cabaye is played almost on the toes of his main defenders. Absolutely thatas maybe not the simplest way to utilize his driving skills and vision. Cabaye would be considered a much more efficient nearer to Papiss Cisse who without doubt would appreciate the help. Cisse is getting therefore frustrated heall burst shortly. Next, how much has Cheick Tiote gone back? And will somebody please tell Steven Taylor that itas maybe not brave to be jumping off your butt hoping to get in blocks. How usually did you see Bobby Moore down his feet? Newcastle are also dreadfully in short supply of targets. The sole risk is Cisse and Cabaye on a direct free-kick. The goals are simply not shared and as for creativity and thought on sides and indirect free-kicks itas now in peril to become a joke. That hasnat been an undesirable year, itas been a terrible one. And if United stay up allow nobody say itas work congratulations. They shouldn't have experienced the mire in the initial place but they've. All season. What fans are thinking is that has been the one-off year, this one or last. Iam worried about United in summer time because a long, hard fight against relegation leaves the greater players frustrated about where in fact the club goes. People like Cabaye and Hatem Bill Arfa. They are often more than willing to move on. Paris St Germain, the cash membership in France, have already stated quite openly that they'd love to sign Cabaye, and Ben Arfa has equally openly stated that he was a PSG advocate as a kid and would one day like to play for them. Lots of good will was dropped against Sunderland, not just three items. Itall take some getting right back.
