Soccer-Real Madrid unseats United as most valuable team-Forbes - Yahoo! Sports

May 17 (Reuters) - Nine-time European champ Real Madrid have finished Manchester United's run because the world's most effective team, according to an annual survey produced by Forbes on Wednesday. The worthiness of Real, a Spanish club owned by its thousands of people, increased 76 percent to $3.3 billion from a year before, Forbes said in a statement. (www.forbes.com/soccer) United, who have won the English name a record 19 times and are handled by the American Glazer family, increased 42 % to $3.2 million but dropped to second on the record for the very first time since Forbes started following soccer funds in 2004. Real's Spanish rivals Barcelona ($2.6 billion), England's Arsenal ($1.33 billion) and German part Bayern Munich ($1.31 billion) rounded out the utmost effective five.
