With the field narrowing and the competition picking up, Aly Raisman nailed not one, but two routines during the eighth week of ABC's Dancing with the Stars.
This was the first time this year that the contestants were asked to perform two routines. While it has to be a daunting task to prepare for multiple dances in a week, this simply wound up being a chance for Raisman to impress not once, but twice.
Entering this dance, the pair was trying to meet the new standard they set for themselves the previous week when their salsa earned them a score of 29 out of 30.
Well, with comments from the judges like the one DWTS passes along from Carrie Ann Inaba, it should be no surprise that the pair earned another 29:
Ballas and Raisman continue to shine not just because of their routines, but also because of the infectious chemistry between the two. They are clearly very comfortable together, and they seem to have plenty of respect for each other.
Meanwhile, DWTS caught the playful pair, with Aly in the dress Ballas referred to, prior to their routine with this tweet:
On to the second dance of the night and it was more of the same. Well, other than the fact the couple was joined by Henry Byalikov to perform a jive.
To help them jive around the dance floor, the couple had Ray Charles' Hit the Road Jack. This isn't the first song I would think of to dance a jive to, but hey, I'm not going to complain when someone stretches to play Ray. Anyway, it all set up for a fun and entertaining routine.
The judges were not as blown away with this performance as they were with the tango earlier, but with three nines, it wasn't far off.
Raisman has been bringing her A-game week in and week out for this competition. She isn't the only one as Kellie Pickler and Zendaya have also been impressive, but I still maintain that Raisman will emerge victorious.
