Another game and another blowout reduction for the Portland Trail Blazers happened with Friday's 116-98 defeat to the Houston Rockets. It had been another embarrassing attempt by the Blazers, which saw the loudest cheer from the house supporters occur in the closing minutes. As part of an advertising, Portland tried to give its supporters free chalupas from Taco Bell for rating 100 pointsa'win or lose. They didn't get it, falling one container small. Following the game, the greatest story out of the locker room was Wesley Matthews calling out his teammates for their effort as the Blazers endured their seventh straight damage by on average 17.3 items. Portland lowered to 33-43 and was formally eradicated from the playoffs. "I am trying to not cuss right now," Matthews told Kerry Eggers of the Portland Tribune. "But we have to perform with some damn heart. This really is crazy. This is ridiculous." Disappointment boiled over much more for Matthews when editors continued to question the fourth-year shooting guard to elaborate. "We have to play such as this is a benefit that it is," he said. "Weare over here taking it for granted. We need to check our hearts at the doorway. We have six games left and weave lost seven in a row. Weare a lot better than that.a Where they lost their last seven games and seven of their last 10 the Blazers had an identical falling out last year. It has to become a frustrating experience for Matthews, who has prided himself on his work ethic but has seen the group limper to the finish line yet again. But with the summer season ostensibly over and about half the group not expected to return in the fall, the incentive just isn't there to get today. However, Matthews is right. Though nearly all of the team's stocks will not be back next time, they are auditioning to stick in the NBA and needs to have some satisfaction whenever they access it the court. Guys like Nolan Smith and Luke Babbitt have been large disappointments as first-round recommendations, and their times seem to be numbered. Portland features a raw stretch to complete the summer season with Dallas, the L.A. Lakers and Oklahoma City a few weeks. The Blazers summary the plan with games against Denver, the L.A. Clippers and Golden State. Concluding strong will undoubtedly be best for the team's psyche going in to the offseason. Just showing a little competitive fire that personified the group to start the year should go a lengthy ways for themselves and the lovers, while it isn't expected that the Blazers may get all six games against playoff groups.
